THREE Birmingham men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after raids were carried out across the region yesterday morning.
The trio – aged 29, 21 and 20 – were held at addresses in Stirchley, Yardley and Highgate.
Several weapons were recovered, along with balaclavas, gloves, jewellery and class A drugs.
The swoops were carried out as part of an investigation into car key burglaries across the West Midlands and West Mercia Police areas.
Five addresses were targeted in the operation, led by the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU), the force support unit and the dog unit.
Det Ch Insp Ronan Tyrer from the Regional Organised Crime Unit, said: “We carried out these searches early this morning and were successful in arresting three people we believe to be involved in a series of car key burglaries.
“We want to reassure the public we are doing all we can to tackle this kind of crime.
“Our work today was intelligence-led, and we would like to thank members of the public for their continued support and for the information they provide, which assisted us with these arrests.”
