THE Moseley and Kings Heath Beer Festival is taking place today.
The event, which runs until 11pm at the Kings Heath Cricket Club, boasts 26 beers and a number of ciders.
South Birmingham Radio are down there today and spoke to a few of the revellers.
Judy Ward from Rubery is here celebrating her birthday with her husband Gary, Jo Bromley and Dave Beswick.
Judy said: “I saw it advertised and thought ‘why not?’.
“There’s a good atmosphere down here.”
We also spoke to Gav Allbutt, the chairman of the Moseley Round Table is one of the groups which has organised the event.
Here’s what he had to say:
As well as the beer and cider, there is also live music and the Six Nations Rugby matches being screened.
Tony Sault co-started the Top Beer Crew a few years ago with Kev Redmond to promote real ales and the venues which serve them.
He told SBR: “What I like about this event is there are 26 ales which are laid out in ABV (alcohol by volume) order.
“It’s a great festival for those who are new to real ale and are giving it a go for the first time.”
The event is organised by the Moseley Round Table, 41 Club, Ladies’ Circle and Tangent.
And the event will be raising funds for charity projects and worthy causes.
