Teenager arrested over stabbing near Joseph Chamberlain College charged with attempted murder

THE teenager arrested following a stabbing near Joseph Chamberlain College on Wednesday has now been charged with attempted murder.
The 16-year-old appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court after the incident in Belgrave Road which left another 16-year-old with serious stab wounds to his chest.
The victim, who attends the college was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 19-year-old man was left with minor cuts to his back and his hand, while an 18-year-old man was also treated for a cut to his hand.
The accused was arrested soon after and charged in yesterday morning.
He also faces two charges of wounding and one of possession of an offensive weapon.
He has further been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, following an incident on December 19 last year in Southacre Road, Highgate, where a man was stabbed in the wrist.
