Sustrans seeking ‘Active Schools Officer’ to promote cycling in South Birmingham schools

SUSTRANS, which operates and promotes the nation’s cycle lanes is looking for an Active Schools Officer, based in Longbridge.
The job, for 15 hours-a-week, has a salary of £24,204 pro rata per annum, and the contract is until June 30, 2019.
The closing date for the job is 9am on Monday, June 25.
The exciting challenge will see the successful applicant deliver a programme of educational and promotional activities and initiatives at 12 primary schools and one secondary school in Longbridge, on behalf of the Move More Eat Well project.
The aim is to promote more sustainable modes of travel to and from school.
There will also be responsibility for the recruitment and support of ‘active travel champions’ amongst parents, teachers and governors.
Applicants should have a good standard of education and experience of working with children and young people and of partnership working within a community-based or environmental project.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday, July 4.
