A MAN was shot in broad daylight South Woodgate on Sunday, September 23.

It happened at 2.30pm when the 23-year-old victim was chased down an alleyway by three men in Gravel Bank.

He was then shot in the shoulder.

Det Sgt John Mawhinney from West Midlands Police CID, said: “I’m appealing to anyone who may have any information to get in touch with me or my team as a matter of urgency.

“Fortunately his injuries are not life-threatening and he’s now recovering at home.

“This appears to be an unprovoked attack and we’re working hard to try and understand why this has happened and who is responsible.”

Detectives are conducting extensive house-to house enquiries and trawling CCTV footage in a bid to piece together what happened.

“We would appreciate anyone who has any information, no matter how insignificant it seems, to get in touch as it could be valuable to our investigation,” added DS Mawhinney.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or contact officers via live online chat at west-midlands.police.uk
