POLICE investigating the fatal collision in Quinton on Sunday say they are now looking for a key witness to come forward who may have vital information.

Officers want to speak to the driver of a white van believed to have been in the area around the time Ellis Haarhoff’s motorbike hit a tree on the Wolverhampton Road South.

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital but died from his injuries the following morning.

The collision took place at 11.45pm and it is believed the driver turned into Hagley Road towards Quinton.

PC Mark Crozier, from West Midlands Police’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Ellis at this devastating time.

“We are determined to find out exactly what occurred in the build up to the bike hitting the tree.

“From our enquiries we understand a white van was in the area at the time and we need the driver to speak to us about what they saw.”

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101.
