Police appeal for information after Selly Oak shooting

A SHOOTING took place in Selly Oak in the early hours of this morning (Monday, July 2).

Officers were called to an incident at 2am in Sturge Close after a 20-year-old man sustained a suspected shotgun wound to the arm.

The victim took himself to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Det Sgt John Mawhinney, from Force CID, said: “I am asking anyone who was in the area or has information on what happened this morning to come forward and speak to me.

“We need to piece together the events that led to a young man sustaining an injury and the small detail you have could be very important to our investigation.”
