A MIDDLE-AGED man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a light goods vehicle in Harborne.
The incident happened at 1.40pm on the Hagley Road.
An ambulance transporting another patient to hospital came across the incident shortly after it happened.
A second ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a doctor on board were also sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the man had suffered significant injuries.
