A LORRY driver was seriously injured during a two vehicle crash in Kings Norton this morning.
It happened at 6.37am on the Pershore Road South.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car to the scene.
The driver, a man in his 40s, was receiving first aid from bystanders which the ambulance service praised as being ‘excellent’.
He then received specialist trauma care for multiple injuries he had suffered, including a serious leg injury and was immobilised and given pain relief at the scene.
An ambulance then took him to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the doctor travelling in the back of the ambulance.
Treatment was continued en route to hospital.
The van driver, a man, was treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.
