Appeal for volunteers to help get Kings Heath creative hub up and running

Written by on June 2, 2019

KINGS Heath Community Interest Company has launched an appeal for volunteers to help get its temporary creative hub off the ground.

The group now has an affordable lease for numbers three to five, High Street, next to The Station pub.

They are hoping to turn it into a space for exhibitions, events, workshops and more.

The next step is to ensure the building is in a safe state for public access.

Anyone who can volunteer to help with that is urged to contact the group.

Sessions will also be set up to paint the inside of the building and clear the land at the back.

Over the next few weeks the group will be planning how to use the venue from July.

The community interest company also wants to hear from existing local arts organisations which want to be involved. Among the early plans are a joint arts event with The Station on August 3 and to be part of the annual Street Festival on September 9.

Visit kingsheathcic.co.uk for more information and kingsheathcic.co.uk/contact/ to fill out the online email form to express interest in being part of the project.
