BIRMINGHAM TV star Citizen Khan made a surprise visit to Acorns Children’s Hospice in Selly Oak.
The self-appointed ‘community leader’ – played by Adil Ray OBE in the sitcom – dropped by with a sack load of presents for children and families being supported by the charity.
There were plenty of smiles and laughter during the visit and those who had come to meet him posed for selfies with him.
Acorns Chief Executive Toby Porter said: “Christmas is always a magical time of year at Acorns, but Mr Khan’s visit really has to be the star on top of the tree!
“It was a truly joyful, unforgettable experience for the families who attended.
“You could tell that they will remember this day for a long time to come.”
The visit came about thanks to Birmingham born actor, comedian, radio and television presenter who plays the part of the famous Mr Khan and is a Patron of Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Toby added: “At Acorns we recognise the importance of making special memories for the families we support.
“That is especially important at this time of year, so a huge heartfelt thank you to Adil for taking the time to visit us today as Citizen Khan today. “
