Charity Fun Run raising money for SANDS
Written by alexmetcalfe on November 30, 2018
Claire and James’s touching story begins when they gave premature birth to their son, Jacobi, whom sadly passed away a few short hours later.
During this time, Claire and James, say they were helped by the work of several charities who stepped in to provide much needed support and guidance at a time when they were at their lowest.
Claire and James are raising money for SANDS who they say made a particular impact on them.
SANDS provided much-needed support packs to help guide them through the emotional rollercoaster of grief, torment, heartbreak and arranging something a parent should never have to do – their own child’s funeral.
The support from SANDS didn’t stop there. SANDS went on to help support the family to return to work and create a new normality.
Claire and James Watson say that unfortunately it’s charities such as SANDS that go unheard of until the moment one needs them.
Claire and James are taking part in a Festive Fun Run in honour of their son, Jacobi Patrick Watson, raising awareness and funds for SANDS.
You can find out more or donate to the cause by going to their JustGiving page.
They have hit 90% of their £2,000 target. Please make it 100% for this truly wonderful cause.
South Birmingham Radio would like to extend their deepest condolences and wish Claire and James the absolute best of luck for their taking part in The Festive Fun Run.
